Microsoft product asking for Microsoft Project 2000 CD
The difficulty you are experiencing is that when you launch a Microsoft product such as Excel or Word or Project, you are being asked for a Microsoft Project 2000 CD. A message similar to the following appears:
The feature you are trying to use is on a CD-ROM or other removable disk that is not available. Insert the 'Microsoft Project 2000 SR-1' disk and click OK
To solve this, you need to go the Software Library and install the fix for this issue. If you then want to use Microsoft Project, you will need to reinstall Microsoft Project 2000. Note: There are several errors that are similar to this one - the instructions below will fix ONLY the error shown above. To install the fix:
Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.
You may need to look in your databases folder
for the Software library bookmark
.
If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Scroll until you see the entry Microsoft Project and double-click on it to open it.
Scroll down to the section labeled Project 2000 Error - Asking for CD-ROM (Fix) and if the section is not open, click on the arrow head next to that section.
Click on the button labeled Fix for Project 2000 CD-Rom Error + reinstall Project 2000.
After the fix is complete, if you are not instructed to, you may want to reboot your system.
You should no longer receive the message.
