Tips about activating resources
To be assigned to a customer engagement, an employee must be activated. Resources who were already existing prior to the cutover period and launch of Resource Management in March 2002 are already entered into Resource Management and activated. Only employees hired after the cutover period must be activated.
For more information about how to reactivate an employee, see Eureka! document 15249 — How to reactivate a resource in Resource Management.
Employees who transfer from another department into a deployable resource role must be activated in the Resource Management system once his or her transfer is complete.
Employees who transfer to another department (outside consulting) from deployable resource role must be deactivated in the Resource Management system once his or her transfer is complete so that they will not be eligible to be assigned to a customer engagement. For more information about how to deactivate an employee, see Eureka! document 15248 — How to deactivate a resource in Resource Management.
The manager of a particular deployable resource is responsible for activating that resource. Only managers may activate a resource.
The employee must have an employee ID to be activated. The employee's HR paperwork may need to be fully completed and processed before the employee ID can be used in the Resource Management system.
