Why is it so important to enter/update my resource profile and what will happen if I don't do this?

Your profile, including competencies, will be searchable by the Resource Management 8 application. This application is where Service Orders are entered according to customer's work requirements. Therefore, the more complete your profile, the more likely you are to be proposed for engagements that your skills match. Therefore, it is in your best interest, as well as that of the customer and PeopleSoft, that you regularly update your profile.

What is the "Job Spy"?

Deployable resources need a way to easily identify customer engagements (potential assignments) for which they are a good fit. The Job Spy is the tool for the resource to proactively seek new assignments. The Job Spy allows the resource to weight each of 9 factors to his/her own preference, and the Job Spy performs the task of finding work for the resource. From the Job Spy, the consultant can navigate to detailed information about an assignment and optionally submit a bid to express interest in the assignment.

For more information about the Job Spy, see Eureka! document 15237 — The Job Spy in Resource Management.

How do I create a request for service for an assignment?

Customer Managers and Project Managers have access to submit Requests for Service via the Manager Request Services page. We have produced a Seminar on Demand that is designed as the main training mechanism for our PGS team, and the process is explained there. Please go to the PeopleSoft Knowledge Center, log on, and search for "Psynergy/FSCM". You will find the Resource Management 8 and other Psynergy/FSCM delivered Seminars there. How do I find out what assignments are available for me?

By using the searching tool called the Job Spy, you can search for engagements that match your skillset, interest level, and availability. The job spy will produce a list of engagements that best suit the consultant in order from most relevant to least relevant by analyzing the resource's profile against what each customer has requested. For more information about the Job Spy, click here.

How do I find out what assignments are available for my direct reports?

Similar to the Job Spy, which consultants use to find work for themselves, you can access the Find Assignments for Resource page, enter the name of the consultant, and have the Resource Management Match Engine suggest work for which the consultant is most qualified. You can adjust the importance level of various factors, such as competency proficiency, availability, industry expertise, etc., for each resource whom you are trying to staff. When you find open service order resource requests for which the consultant is suited, you can submit a Manager Recommendation with the push of a button, which causes this recommendation to immediately become visible to the Resource Specialist on the order and appear in the Resource Specialist's Workflow Worklist.

For more information about finding assignments for resources, see Eureka! document 15252 — Find Assignments for Resource in Resource Management.
