Column labels show numbers instead of letters in Excel
Normally, the columns on Excel spreadsheets are labeled with letters. The rows are labeled with numbers. If your column labels are showing numbers instead of letters on your Excel spreadsheets (click here
to see an example), follow the steps below to restore the letter column labels:
Save and close any open spreadsheets.
Open a blank spreadsheet.
Click on the Tools menu, then on Options...
Click on the General tab.
There should be a check in the box next to R1 C1 reference style in the Settings section at the top of tab. Clear the checkbox.
Click OK.
The column labels should now be alphabetical.
