How to email an Microsoft Access database object

Document number: 15165

You may not attach an entire Microsoft Access database using this method. This method will only send a representation of the current screen. You can also run into problems if you try to send a large number of records.

  1. Create the file in the application. You must create and choose a database object before the feature is available.

  2. With the database object (table, query, etc.) chosen, click on the File menu, then on Sen d To, and finally on M ail recipient (as Attachment)...

  3. A Send popup dialog appears. Choose a format from that screen and click OK.

  4. If you choose HTML as a format, you may receive another dialog box asking for a template. You may browse to choose a template or just click OK.

  5. Lotus Notes opens.
    • If you have not already launched Lotus Notes, you will be prompted for your password.

  6. A new memo in Lotus Notes opens, adds the name of your file in the subject line, and, depending on the format you chose, either attaches a file to the email or pastes an image of the object.

  7. Add the email address of the recipients you wish to receive the email.

  8. Add whatever comments you wish, just like a regular Lotus Notes email.

Your Microsoft Access object file or image will be sent as you have specified.
