PowerPoint presentation file size gets very large for no reason

Document number: 15159

Sometimes as you are working on a PowerPoint presentation, the file size seems to get very large, yet you have not added large graphics or a large amount of material to it; you may have just been editing it. PowerPoint holds onto almost every change you make to it. So for example, if you save a large image to the file, and then remove it later and save the file, the size of the PowerPoint file will not be reduced by a corresponding amount.

To reduce the file size, click on the File menu and choose Save As....Type in a different file name in the File name field and click the Save button.

In most cases, the file size of your presentation should decrease dramatically. For more tips on reducing the file size of your presentations, see http://www.masterviews.com/2001/07/13/reduce_file_size_in_powerpoint.htm
