WARNING: DO NOT UNINSTALL OFFICE 2000 from your machine. Uninstalling has been known to cause problems when users attempt to reinstall after uninstalling.

Other versions of Microsoft Office are not supported for PeopleSoft standard machines.

The installation will take about 20 minutes from a direct LAN connection. It is advised you do not attempt to install the application over RAS as it may take several hours, depending on your connection speed. You can load the package via a VPN connection, but it will take longer than when you are in an office. Please be patient when running this installation. Depending on your location, it may take up to about an hour.

To install or reinstall the standard PeopleSoft version of Microsoft Office 2000, follow these steps:

1. Close down all Microsoft Office applications.
2. Open Lotus Notes, then open the Software Library by clicking the bookmark link.
   • You may need to look in your databases folder for the Software library bookmark .

   • If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see Eureka! document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.

3. Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.

4. Scroll down to the Microsoft Office - All Versions entry.

5. Scroll down to the button Office 2000 SP3 and click on it.
• It will take a while to reload the entire package. It takes about 20 minutes while in a PeopleSoft office. It is STRONGLY recommended that you do NOT install this package via a RAS connection.

• You can load the package via a VPN connection, but it will take longer than when you are in an office. Please be patient when running this installation. Depending on your location, it may take up to about an hour.

• Note: Interrupting the installation part of the way through may cause problems and errors to occur.

6. Let the installation run to completion.

7. Reboot your computer.

 

The PeopleSoft standard version of Microsoft Office 2000 SP3 will be installed on your workstation.
