PKZIP opens multiple times or opens blank screen when launching ZIP file on web
The difficulty you are experiencing is that when you click on a zip file on a website you get either many instances of PKZIP launching or you get a white screen with a small icon in the top left-hand corner.
To solve this, you need to apply the patch we obtained from the vendor. This is a known issue with the software. To apply the patch, follow these steps:
Close down all instances of Internet Explorer.
If you're not sure if you have a valid P: drive mapped, see Eureka! document 50003 — How to map a drive letter - P: drive.
If you don't have the Software Library bookmark see Eureka! document 16250 — How to add the Software Library database link to Lotus Notes for instructions on installing the Software library bookmark.
Click the Standard Software Package Installs icon.
Scroll down until you see the entry PKZip file compression utility, ZIP, PKWare and double-click on it to open it.
Scroll down until you see the button labeled Patch PKWare Plugin.
Click on the button once. It may blink quickly.
There will be no windows that appear and you will not need to reboot. Wait about one minute.
Reopen your browser and try the zip file again.
The problem should no longer occur.
Note: This fix will be coming out in a future PeopleNet Update.
