Removing PointSec from your machine will require that your machine be decrypted through the un-installation process.

• You will be required to continue signing in to PointSec until the the un-installation is complete.

• The decryption will take place behind the scenes while you work.

• You will be able to turn the machine off during the decryption process.
  Note: The decryption of your will not progress while it is powered off.

To begin the decryption process;

1. Click Start.

2. Click Settings.

3. Click C ontrol Panel.

4. Double click the Add/Remove Programs icon.

5. In the Add/Remove Programs window scroll down and highlight PointSec.

6. Click Change/Remove.

7. You will be prompted with the Confirm Deletion of Files window.

8. Click Yes.

The Un-installation Identification window will appear. (Click icon to see screen shot: )

9. Under the section Uninstaller1 enter the following:

   • In the Name field enter SAKB5993831.

   • Press Tab.

   • In the Password field enter tpitmdd10.
     Note: this field is case sensitive.

   • Press Tab.

10. Under the section Uninstaller2 enter the following:

    • In the Name field enter SADM6883027.

    • Press Tab.

    • In the Password field enter tpitmdd12.
      Note: this field is case sensitive.

    • Press Tab.
      Note: The OK button will no longer be grayed out when both names and passwords are entered correctly and you Tab out of the last password field.

11. Click OK.

The Select Volumes to Uninstall window will appear. (Click icon to see screen shot: )

12. Highlight the entry in the Installed Volumes column.
    Note: This will typically be the Volume C:\.

13. Click the >> button to move the entry to the Volumes to Uninstall column.

14. Click OK.

15. You will be prompted to restart, Click OK.
    Note: You may need to power your machine back on manually.

Once you log back into your machine, PointSec will begin the decryption process. You can check on the progress of the decryption my running your mouse over the PointSec icon in your system tray, the lower left corner where the clock is located. When you move your mouse over this icon it will display the percentage of the drive that is decrypted.

1. Once the drive has completed decrypting your will get a prompt that reads: Your PC is now decrypted, to complete the un-installation, restart you PC.

2. Click OK.

3. Once your machine reboots you will not need to sign into PointSec.

4. Sign in using your NT credentials.

5. Once you log back onto your machine you will be prompted with the Uninstall PointSec window.
   Note: When PointSec finishes removing the files from your computer the OK button will activate.

6. Click OK.

At this point you are done and PointSec has been completely removed from your system.
