There are many different features and options in the main Sametime Connect window. Here is a brief overview of the Sametime Connect Window:

• The  and symbols indicate whether a group is collapsed or expanded:

• indicates that the group is collapsed, or that the members are not visible. By clicking on this symbol, it will show all of the group members.

• indicates that the group is expanded, or that the members are visible. By clicking on this symbol, it will hide all of the group members.

• Groups are distinguished by the following icons:

• indicates a Sametime Connect personal group the user has created.

• indicates a Sametime Connect public group which has been added from the PeopleSoft Directory.

• Online Status indicates whether your status is currently displaying as Active, Away or Do Not Disturb. For additional information, see Eureka! document 12014 — How to change the online status in Sametime Connect.
  
• Names in green indicate that the user is connected to the server, while names in black are not connected.

• A green square ( ) next to a user's name indicates that they are active and available. Instant messages can be sent to this user.

• A yellow diamond ( ) next to a user's name indicates their online status is set to Away. Instant messages can be sent to this user for viewing when they return.

• A circle with a slash ( ) indicates that the user is in Do Not Disturb mode. Instant messages cannot be sent to this user.

• The indicator region displays Sametime Connect system messages. It can be found at the bottom of the Sametime window or the bottom of messages you send to other online Sametime users.

• Sametime window: Alerts you to recent status changes of your Connect contacts.

• Message window: Indicates when your partner is typing a response.

• The Sametime Connect Status indicators display in color when you are connected to a server. If you are not connected to a server, they will be gray.
