Requesting Access to ICE and Updates to security in ICE

For all internal employees, the access in ICE is handled through Lotus Notes D-Lists. To get access to ICE or to update your access in ICE you need to ensure that you are included on the proper D-Lists. If you are not, open a Group Modification Northstar Request to have yourself added to that D-List.

ICE does not create or update an individual user's security within ICE. Each development, QA, PRD, or GSC manager is responsible for ensuring that his or her group's D-Lists are appropriately logged in ICE, or that they roll up to one that is. Then users need only to let their managers know that they need to be included in the local D-List.

If you belong to a group that is not in P&T, then we need to have an ICE Ticket opened with your groups D-List, and the appropriate level of entry (read only, create only, create/update). For groups outside of P&T we need to have the approval of a P&T VP level sponsor.

There are several special levels of security that are maintained in ICE and that have their own D-Lists. If you require one of these special levels of access, you need to create a Group Modification Northstar ticket and request that you be included in the appropriate D-List. These levels of security require approval from a Director or above where noted:

D-List	Access	Approval
ICE-Approval	Allows user to approve specific projects for locked builds.	VP
ICE-Approval - PeopleTools	Same as above but for PeopleTools.	VP
ICE-Backdoor	Allows user to edit Reports/Incidents, and resolutions after they have been closed, resolved or posted.	Director
ICE-Bundles	Allows user to create Bundles.	Director
ICE-Pin	Allows user to approve Checkin for locked builds .	VP
ICE-Pin PeopleTools	Same as above but for PeopleTools.	VP
ICE-Primes	Main distribution list for ICE news - Users on this list are expected to be the main points of contact for ICE issues in their departments. They are expected to pass any ICE information they receive to the rest of their group.	None
ICE-Query-Run	Allows the viewing and running of pre generated public queries.	None
ICE-Query	Allows the creation of queries in ICE. This access is very limited and is restricted to a few users in each group. Users should be knowledgeable in SQL and be willing to create queries for the entire group. Personal queries and queries which impact performance will be deleted and the authors will be removed from this list.	VP
ICE-Regression	Users in this list have the right to override the Regression field on Incidents.	VP
ICE-Updates&Fixes	Allows users to post fixes to Customer Connection.	Director
