Access to Company - Account Team and Account Plan

The Account page on the Company component is where the account team and account plan are set up. You must be listed on the account team to have access to the Account Plan for that particular company.

The Sales Admin security role, typically assigned to a Power User, has access to administer all account teams. A Power User's main role in this situation is to add the account owner as the primary account team member.

The assigned primary account owner is responsible for adding the remaining account team members. The primary account owner has access to all opportunities and leads for the account.

Once team members are added to the account team they have access to the account plan. They do not have permission to add new team members. Only the account owner, the primary account team member, can add additional account team members.

Selected sales management users have security access to view all accounts, administer all account teams, and administer all account plans. They do not need to be listed on the account team.

The business process for adding an account team is as follows:

  1. The General Manager or Country Manager identifies those companies in the region that are to have an account team.

  2. The local power users set up companies with an account owner, typically the Principle Account Executive.

  3. The Principle Account Executives are then responsible for ensuring that the remainder of the account team is added to the Company Account page.
