Forecast Process

Document number: 11541

Sales Representatives are responsible for keeping their opportunities accurate at all times, as opportunities are what drive the forecasts. Estimated close date and GISS stage are the triggers for the Forecast and Pipeline.

Sales Representatives are not responsible for creating or submitting forecasts, but can view their forecast in Customer1. They can view a real-time forecast for the current period or view what has been forecasted for them in a previous period.

Generating a Revenue Forecast

  1. Navigate to Sales and select Forecasts, then Revenue Forecast, then Create.

  2. Populate the Forecast Name field with the week value of the forecast.

  3. Populate the Time Frame field with the quarter of the forecast.

  4. Click on the Add button.

This generates a real-time forecast for the period specified. Sales Representatives cannot submit or save the forecast. The process outlined above can be repeated until a Sales Manager completes and submits the forecast every Friday. Once the manager's forecast is generated, a Sales Representative needs to follow the process for viewing the forecast, with the exception of searching for an existing forecast instead of adding a new forecast.

Hint: To make changes in Customer1 and then view the same forecast updated, click on the Transfer To Opportunity icon beside the Opportunity you want to change. Make the desired changes in the Opportunity and save them. In the original forecast window, click Reforecast button. The forecast is created for the same time period, but it reflects the newly saved changes.

Should you have any questions on Forecasting, please speak with your Manager.
