When you create and save a new account in Customer1, the record is passed to the Customer Data Team for validation. This ensures that PeopleSoft maintains pristine Account data.
The Account validation process is as follows:
- A new account is created in Customer1 with a default
Customer Status of
Pending, and a default
Customer Type of
Prospect.
- Where possible, the Customer Data Team uses Internet tools to validate the fields
Name,
Website URL,
Phone Number, and
Addresses. The
Status remains
Pending until the team validates the company information and changes the status to
Active.
- Once a contract is signed, Contracts Administration sets the
Customer Type to
Customer and updates the
Name field to reflect the exact name on the contract.
- The
Customer Status and
Customer Type fields are always read-only, and can be updated only by the Customer Data Team or Contracts Administration. When the
Customer Type field is
Customer, the
Name and
Short Name fields are read-only, and can be updated only by the Customer Data Team or Contracts Administration.
Note: You should not typically need to create a customer record. If you cannot locate a customer record, please contact your local power user for assistance.
