Notes tracks each replication event for each database. On the basis of the date it records, Notes determines which documents to replicate the next time it does so with the same server. You can use the information Notes collects to review replication events and troubleshoot problems. Notes saves replication information in the Notes Log database.

To view the replication information in the Notes Log, follow these steps:

1. Add your Notes Log to your bookmarks:

   • Click on File from the menu bar.

   • Select Database from the drop down menu and then select Open... from the next drop down menu.

   • For the Server: select Local.

   • In the Da tabase: section, scroll until you find Notes Log ( Your Name).

   • Click on Notes Log ( Your Name).

   • Click on the Bookmark... button.

   • In the Add to: section, the Database folder is selected by default. Choose a location for the bookmark.

   • Click OK.

   • Click Cancel to close the Open Database window.

2. Double-click on your Notes Log icon to open the Notes Log.

3. In the View pane, select Replication Events. This view presents the following information:

   • The server with which the replication occurred
   • The dates of the replication
   • The times the replication started and ended
   • The length of each replication in minutes
   • The total replication time per date
   • The average time for each replication per date

   • Who initiated the replication

4. You can double-click on an item in the Replication Events view to see a detailed Replication Log Entry document. This document shows you how many documents were added, deleted, and updated on both sides of the replication. Additional information or problems are noted in the Events field.
